I’ve spent my whole life in sport, but I couldn’t find the motivation.
I’ve spent my whole life in sport. In my youth, I was a Candidate Master of Sport in track & field (800 m), and later I became a Master of Sport in powerlifting. But adulthood brought its own priorities — a demanding career as a physiotherapist, building a home, and raising two children, a boy and a girl. For almost ten years, sport became something I simply “did when I had time,” rather than a true pursuit.
When my youngest child finally grew a bit older, I felt a strong urge to return — but I couldn’t find the motivation just by training for the sake of training. Then I received the opportunity to participate in L’Étape du Tour de France: 131 km with 4550 m of climbing. I immediately understood one thing — to finish such a challenge, I needed both proper preparation and proper equipment.
That’s when I reached out to Light Bicycle.
The Turbo 50 Disc wheels became a source of motivation I didn’t know I needed.
I wanted a special wheelset that would perfectly match my bike and give me a reason to push forward again. The moment the wheels arrived, everything changed. The result? I completed L’Étape du Tour successfully, far beyond what I expected, and I’m still smiling every time I get on the bike. Now I’m already building my next bike, specifically for this type of event — and of course it will be equipped with the new ARS465 + Gen3 plus wheels. The carbon spokes add a touch of magic that I absolutely love.
